المستخلص

The study presented a comprehensive model for the freight transport sector between cities in Egypt, examining its impact on carbon dioxide emissions within the framework of Egypt's vision for 2030.Encouraging the transition to inland water and rail transportation through the provision of easy financing programs to support transportation modes, financing the manufacture of new river units, and purchasing freight tractors and rail cars. The main objective was to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the sizes of goods for various modes of internal transport in Egypt, with a focus on road transport, rail transport, and inland water transport, while studying and evaluating their contributions to carbon dioxide emissions. This study used both quantitative and descriptive analytical methods, and includes a sample of various internal transportation methods as well as goods transported between cities. The study aims to provide evidence-based recommendations to enhance environmental efficiency and reduce carbon emissions in the domestic transportation sector in Egypt, and to appropriately distribute the volume of goods on low-emission mediums. These results demonstrate that the independent variables, such as land transportation, have an 81.2% impact on the dependent variable, which is the volume of carbon dioxide emissions, while rail transportation has a 42.8% impact and inland water transportation has a 52.7% impact on emissions volume, with the potential to achieve emission savings through the implementation of the mathematical model. The results revealed the existence of relationships that explain the impact between different transportation modes and carbon dioxide emissions.
